Although Lily and I absolutely loved Reyjkavik we knew we had to explore more of Iceland than just the city. After talking with a bunch of people we met we decided that south Iceland would be our new home for the remainder of our trip. So we hopped in our sad car, screen shotted some directions and we were on our way. Our first day we saw Seljalandfoss waterfall, Skógafoss waterfall and Sólheimajökull Glacier before stopping in the very small town of Vik for dinner and a place to stay.
The next day we drove to another glacier, called Jökulsárlón which we actually got to by accident but we were happy to have made the mistake because it was gorgeous and the water was the prettiest color blue I have ever seen. After awhile at the glacier we got back on track and went searching for the canyon we were trying to get to. The canyon was another must see in Iceland, unfortunately we got there later in the day so with the sunlight, pictures did not come out as good as they could have.
Our next eat stop was the crashed D3 airplane and a black sand beach. If you google pictures of Iceland chances are you have seen this airplane, it’s about a 2 mile walk into the middle of nowhere but worth the Instagram pictures for sure. After the plane wreck we made our way back to Reyjkavik to spend our last couple of days.
