Health, wellness and fitness all go hand and hand, and depending on who you ask you can get different definitions of each of these terms. To me they all mean very different things, but then again they are so similar. Either way, each of these concepts, or words hold very important places in my heart, in my mind and they are definitely important values I try and live my life by. I think that it is so important that everyone finds their own version of healthy, so that they can live a healthy and happy life. Here I will share a little bit about how I live healthy, happy and balanced.
For me being healthy means, exercising almost everyday, eating healthy, wholesome foods and enjoying the time I have and the people I spend my time with. Being healthy also means letting my exercise routine slip up if I am going away, enjoying not so healthy foods when I want to and drinking a couple extra beers or Margarita’s to celebrate being in a new city or just being out with good friends. One thing I have learned throughout my health journey is not to be to hard on myself when I make some bad eating decisions or I let my body get the rest it deserves. It has taken a long time for me to realize that exercise really does make me happy, its not just a chore I do so I can look good or eat some extra pieces of chocolate at night. It has also taken me a long time to realize that I can stay healthy and in good shape and still enjoy the foods I want in moderation. Ultimately, being balanced and completely in control of my own life and health choices makes me the happiest.
Another way that I stay healthy is through doing things that I love doing, like spending time with friends, going to the beach and going on trips pretty regularly. For me its about taking a mental break from the things I do everyday. Although I love my vacation I also like having a schedule and being home, because schedules make it the easiest for me to make healthy choices and get workouts in because without them my life can get a little chaotic.
Basically, there is a lot that goes into living a healthy life, and its not easy and its not always fun but I do my best every day. There are ways to live a healthy life without always being on a diet, and through loving your workouts, you just need to find what works for you!
