Anti-Inflammatory C Blast Smoothie
I am one of those people that gets sick EVERY winter, and almost every time the weather changes. It doesn’t matter how much I wash my hands, how healthy I eat or how cautious I am, sickness always finds me. Unfortunately, it is something that I have gotten used to, and something I expect every year. But, because I do get sick every year I have learned some tricks that help me feel better faster.
 
Everyone knows when you’re sick you should consume a lot of fluids and vitamin C. My go- to is usually orange juice. But that gets SO boring, and it is full of unnecessary sugars and lacks the fiber that keeps us full.
 
So I opened up my refrigerator looking for a better option and I came up with this smoothie. This smoothie is full of vitamin C, antioxidants and anti-inflammatories. It is great to help you recover from sickness or a tough workout!
 Recipe:

1/4 inch of ginger

1 inch of turmeric

2 whole carrots

1 clementine

1/2 frozen banana

3 ice cubes

1 cup of milk of choice (I use unsweetened almond milk)

Directions: Place carrots, ginger, turmeric and milk into the blender and blend until smooth.  Then add the clementine, banana, and ice.  You can add more or less milk or water to get the consistency you want! Enjoy!
