Many of the books I have been reading lately open up each chapter with a different quote, most of them motivating, some funny, and some that send a good wake-up call. As a read the chapters of the books I always read the quotes, but never really paid much attention to them, I'm not sure why, they just slipped in and then out of my mind and didn't seem to stick as well as the overall message of the book did.
Then I read another article about someones favorite quotes, and they had a list of like 50 really awesome quotes, some which stood out to me, and others that didn't. As I looked over the list I thought to myself, it would be really cool to have a list of 50 of my own favorite quotes, each one that really made me stop and think, motivated or inspired me in some way. That way, when I feel like I'm in a slump or I'm feeling lazy and unmotivated I can take a look at these quotes and hopefully get something out of it.
So although I'm not starting off with a list of 50 quotes, I hope to get there someday, and then surpass it. For now, here is a list of some quotes that I found while reading, scrolling through Pinterest and stalking my favorite instagrammers.
"Wanting to be someone else is a waste of the person you are." -Kurt Cobain
"She believed she could so she did." -R.S. Grey
"Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time." Marthe Troly-Curtin
"Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway." -Earl Nightingale
"What is creative living? Any life that is driven more strongly by curiosity than by fear." -Elizabeth Gilbert
"Be brave. Without bravery, you will never know the world as richly as it longs to be known. Without bravery your life will remain small- far smaller than you probably wanted your life to be." -Elizabeth Gilbert
I'll stop at 6 for now, but I will definitely be adding more quotes to the collection as I come across more. Comment below with your favorite quotes!
